Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is a multidisciplinary field focused on improving the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. Often recognized as the modern evolution of “home economics,” it provides practical life skills in areas like personal finance, nutrition, textiles, and human development.
Instructor
Dr. Rob Johnson is a U.S. Marine veteran, published author, and dedicated educator. He brings decades of unique, real-world experience to the virtual classroom, having served as a Texas state prison case manager and as the executive director of a military family advocacy organization for 28 years. An expert in community building, Dr. Johnson has spent nearly three decades uniting elected officials and community groups to support veterans. He has authored four books on leadership and public service, and his career achievements have been honored by two U.S. presidents, culminating in the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Johnson is committed to fostering an inclusive, high-achieving online environment where every student can thrive.
